FoodMacro Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 19, 2026
FoodMacro helps you log meals, track nutrition goals, and optionally analyse a food photo. This policy explains how FoodMacro handles information.
Information stored on your device
FoodMacro stores your meal entries, nutrition goals, favourite meals, recent foods, and appearance preference locally on your device. FoodMacro does not require an account and does not provide cloud sync for this information.
Meal photos and AI analysis
When you choose to analyse a meal photo, FoodMacro sends that photo over HTTPS to the FoodMacro analysis service. The service forwards the photo to OpenAI to generate a nutrition estimate. FoodMacro does not save meal photos or meal-analysis results on its own server.
OpenAI processes submitted photos under its own terms and privacy practices. FoodMacro uses the photo only to provide the requested analysis. The FoodMacro analysis service temporarily uses the request's network address to limit abuse; it is held in memory for up to 15 minutes and is not used for advertising or profiling.
Purchases
FoodMacro Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. FoodMacro does not receive or store your payment-card information.
Data we do not use for advertising
FoodMacro does not sell personal information, use your meal data for targeted advertising, or include third-party advertising or analytics services.
Your choices and deletion
You can delete meal entries in FoodMacro at any time. Removing the app removes FoodMacro data stored on that device. You can choose not to use photo analysis and continue using the rest of the app.
Children
FoodMacro is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through FoodMacro, please contact us through the support page below.
